How can I stay and become a permanent resident as an overseas student in the UK?

If you are in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa, then you currently have no way to stay permanently in the UK because you cannot count time on a student visa towards permanent residency. If you wish to be able to stay after your degree, you will need to find a company to sponsor you for a Tier 2 work visa.
