A Government scheme to attract foreign entrepreneurs to the UK by opening doors to contacts and streamlining immigration applications is to expand from April.

The Global Entrepreneurs Programme, which has been piloted by UK Trade and Investment, part of the Department of Trade and Industry, since January 2003 has until now targeted individuals based in the US and India. But from April 1, it will become a core service and receive extra funding from the Treasury to enable it to target leading entrepreneurs from other countries.
