Obamacare

ObamaCare (the Affordable Care Act) is a US healthcare reform law that expands and improves access to care and curbs spending through regulations and taxes.

If you don’t obtain and maintain coverage each year, you could end up owing the Shared Responsibility Fee.

Expats who qualify for the FEIE, are exempt, as are those who hold a US expatriate health plan. 1
