This is my Nana's ever famous simple recipe. My friends and family love it, and you can add whatever you like-it's the perfect base.
| 1 | Pound | beef mince (lean ground beef, 455g) |
| 1⁄2 | Cup | milk |
| 1 | Cup | breadcrumbs (or rolled oats) |
| 1 | egg | |
| 1⁄2 | onion (large) | |
| 1 | italian herbs (to taste) | |
| 1 | ketchup |
Preheat oven to 180C
Combine all ingredients in a bowl except the ketchup. Knead all ingredients with your hands for a good 3-4 min. until fully mixed. Form a log-like sculpture in a baking dish. Cover log with foil and bake for 45 min. Uncover for last 10 min and brush ketchup over the top.
Cooking time may vary-it was 180C (350F) in a fan for me. You can add peppers and other things if you feel like it.
